Headshot & Portrait FAQs

Will you come to us?

Yes! We have a portable studio and would love to come out to meet your team. We do need an empty space of about 10’x20’ to set up our equipment (lights, stands, backdrop, etc). If you don’t have a dedicated space, consider using a conference room with the furniture pushed aside, a hallway or a lobby. We have several colored paper backdrops in our studio and mobile studio collection for your headshot backgrounds. Also, the interior of your offices can make a great backdrop. For clients who prefer an outdoor setting, we need access to a shaded area, but do remember wind can be a factor!

 

Do you have a studio we can come to?

Yes, we have a studio located in San Diego off Miramar Road. See our Rate page for In-Studio Photoshoots avaialable.

 

What should I wear/how do I prepare for my headshots?

Check out our Portrait Tips page for pre paring for your photoshoot including hair, makeup and especially clothing! We will also send you a .pdf that with detailed information on preparing for your photoshoot.


Do you offer help with hair, make up and styling?

We have makeup artists available for an additional fee. We can also add a stylist to your session upon request for an additional fee. We no longer offer hair stylists because us ladies are very particular about our hair!

 

How many headshots can you take in a day?

The number of headshots we can create in a day depends on how much time we are alloted for each person. We will discuss this when we chat on the phone and come up with the best schedule for everyone to achieve the best results. We will work with your office manager or an employee to create a schedule for the day and then your staff is responsible for managing the tim slots for each employee.

 

How do we select our final images?

For headshot sessions, in most cases, we will view your images with you immediately after you are photographed and help you make your selection(s) before you leave your shoot. In the case this is can not be an option, we will schedule a zoom photo reveal or in some instances, create a private web gallery of your or your employee's images within a couple of days. For brand and beauty sessions, we will schedule a zoom photo reveal to go through your images.

 

How many images do I get?

This depends on the package you purchase. Additional digital images will be made available as well. All purchased images are edited.

 

How long before I receive my images?

For brand and headshot sessions, we usually deliver edited, full-resolution image file(s)s are delivered within 5-10 business days after your session or receiving your image selections. For Beauty Portraits we usually deliver the image files within 2-3 weeks. Faster delivery times are available with a RUSH fee.

 

What does retouching included?

All purchased brand and headshot images receive standard retouching which includes teeth and eye whitening, lightening of under-eye shadows, softening of wrinkles, removal of eye glass glare and blemish removal.

 

Portrait retouching is available for an additional investment. Portrait retouching includes standard headshot retouching as well as: removing braces, softening of wrinkles and sagging skin, minimizing double chins, slimming faces and body parts, fixing ill-fitting, wrinkled or lint-covered clothing, lazy eye, facial stubble and redness from faces, head swaps, removing or changing background, adding or removing people, etc. All Beauty Portraits receive Portrait retouching at no additional cost.

 

What is your fee for Headshots?

We have Headshot Packages for individuals and small teams. We customized based on the client’s needs. Our headshot package fee pricing can be found on our Rates Page.

How do I book a session with you?

You can go to my Calendly, select the type of session you want and book your photoshoot directly or call the studio and we can answer any questions and book you in.

 

What can I expect from a photoshoot with you?

You will be completely guided through the entire process from first contact until completion. We wil provide you with the information you need to prepare for and complete your photoshoot. You will be guided and posed all throughout your photoshoot to ensure you look your absolute best. Once the photography is complete, we will help you to review and select your favorite photos. Your favorite images will then be sent off for retouching. Your final high-resolution retouched image is then delivered to you via a secure website.

 

How do we book a headshot day for our employees?

Give the studio a call or send an email with the scope of services needed. A quote will be sent out to you for the services you request. Once the quote has been apporved and a contract has been signed, a non-refundable retainer will be required to reserve your date. The balance of the job will be due week before the photoshoot.
